Yokke the Jester

In the medieval age there were kings and jesters. The kings ruled the land from their castles. The jesters traveled from village to village and entertained the common people. Some fancy jesters even entertained the nobles. Today there is only one king left in Sweden, but the jester tradition is still kept alive by several Swedish jester groups. But no other Swedish jesters are as real as Yokke. He plays his show in the street and lives happily on what people puts into the hat. Just like the real jesters did 700 years ago! This doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy being invited to jest at fairs and festivals. But the street is where he does his everyday work. In the summer 2006 he started a collaboration with Swedens other street jester Zack and founded the Jesters guild Uthopia. Since then the group has grown and now includes jesters, musicians, fakirs, mimes, etc enough artists to fill a whole festival with life and joy!
