Yokke

In the medieval age there were kings and jesters. The kings ruled the land and opressed the people from their castles. The jesters traveled from village to village and entertained the common people to ease their suffering. Some fancy jesters without a conciense even entertained the nobles at their courts... Today there is only one king left in Sweden and he dosen't even read his mail... But the jesters are still around. The tradition is kept alive by several Swedish jester groups. But only Yokke lives the way the medieval jesters did. He plays his show in the street and lives happily on what people puts into the hat. Just like the jesters did 700 years ago! But this doesn't mean he don't enjoy being invited to jest at fairs or festivals, he loves it! But the street is where he does his everyday work, keeping the ancient tradition alive in a modern world. Yokke is also a member of the Jesters guild Uthopia that includes other jesters, musicians, fakirs, mimes, etc enough artists to fill a whole festival with life and joy!
